Korea, Here we come!

November, 2005

Greetings all,

The Beer family is very excited to report that we will be moving forward with our assignment with Cadence. As you may recall in our last letter, we shared our disappointment in postponing our trip to Kaiserslautern, Germany. There were a number of factors contributing to that decision, but the bottom line was that God made it clear we were not to go to Germany. Since that time we have continued to be sensitive to the Lord’s leading and have been seeking His will for our next steps. We have also been busy working with Cadence to monitor transition schedules of Hospitality Houses around the world to determine needs and time tables. Having done this, and after much prayer and waiting, we now have a new destination and departure date.

On Tuesday, January 24, our family will be traveling to Seoul, Korea where we will manage a Hospitality House near Camp Humphreys for seven weeks. (Brrr, it’s really cold there!) This Army base, which is located about 35 miles south of Seoul near the city of Pyongtaek, is home to a number of units including the 6th Cavalry and the 23rd Support Group. The home is currently being managed by short term staff like us, until the designated full time hosts arrive. We want to thank each of you who have been praying for us, please continue doing so; it means so much to us. Also, thank you to those who were able to contribute to our financial support account. We will be applying those funds to this trip. At this point we still need to raise approximately $4000. If you are able to join with us in the blessings of this ministry with a tax-deductible financial gift please use the enclosed form/envelope. We would be honored to have you as our partner in this ministry.

During these busy holidays and as we prepare to leave please pray for:
God to shape and prepare us with the tools we need to minister to those we will meet.
A calm and organized spirit as we deal with the logistics of packing a family of 6 for a 15 hour plane ride and 7 weeks in a foreign country!

We are so excited that God is allowing us to serve Him as a family in this way!

In His Service,

The Beer Family
